This year’s Oscar ceremony saw a lot of charming and unforgettable speeches from TOP celebrities. Let’s have a look at a couple of them, especially on Denzel Washington’s achievement gala.

At the gala, Washington entered the lines of stars like Morgan Freeman, George Clooney, and Meryl Streep who has been earlier esteemed with AFI’s most prestigious award.
Julia Roberts remembering their “Pelican Brief” days, Jennifer Hudson belting out a Sam Cooke classic, Beyonce surprising the audience and Chadwick Boseman stating there would be no “Black Panther” without Washington’s trailblazing.
Hudson took the stage to sing a rendition of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” and her soulful performance earned a standing ovation from Washington. “Wow,” he said, rising to his feet, as the room followed.
Beyoncé emerged on stage to present AFI’s Franklin J. Schaffner Alumni Medal to Melina Matsoukas, who directed the Grammy-winning artist’s “Formation” video, the “Thanksgiving” episode of “Master of None” that featured Lena Waithe and several episodes of Issa Rae’s “Insecure.”
“After over a decade of collaborating with Melina we’ve become family,” Beyoncé told the crowd. “In 2005 she managed to shoot five videos with me in three days, creating beautiful imagery with little to no budget. We’ve come a long ways since those days.”
